Hey, textile enthusiasts! Don’t miss the deadline to apply to the 5th annual Vancouver Mini Maker Faire and be part of this year’s Textile Village! You thought the Faire was just for tech-heads and robot enthusiasts? Think again! Whether you’re a spinner or weaver, knitter or crocheter, seamstress or basket weaver, felter or other textile artist, we’ve got a spot for you.

Come out and share your passion project -finished or still in progress- with an enthusiastic and appreciative audience! If you have an unusual tool or machine you’d like to show off, we’d love to see that, too. We especially encourage exhibits that feature a hands-on component, so if you have a skill you’d like to share with attendees, please let us know.

We welcome Maker applications from individuals, guilds, hobby groups, educational institutions, and businesses. If you’d prefer to do a shorter demonstration or lead a workshop, we’d love to hear from you (you can find our demo application here, and our workshop application here).
The Vancouver Mini Maker Faire Call For Makers is open until March 15, 2015. If you have any questions about the show, please feel free to contact us any time.
Thinking about participating for the first time at this year’s Vancouver Mini Maker Faire? Not sure if what you do makes you a Maker, or if anybody else would be interested in your project? Maybe you’ve participated at a past VMMF but have some questions that need answering before you do it again.
Then the Maker Town Hall is for you!
Join us for an evening of presentations, Q&As, socializing & meeting of fellow makers. Get your curiosity piqued, questions answered, and enthusiasm pumped.

Time: Doors at 7:30pm, event from 8:00-10:30pm

New for 2013: Vancouver Mini Maker Faire is teaming up with Got Craft? to create a specially curated crafting section at the event.
What is Got Craft?
Got Craft? aims to bring together a community that fosters handmade and D.I.Y. culture by supporting like-minded events such as DIY @ Museum of Vancouver, the Austin, TX and Vancouver Premiere of Handmade Nation, Swap-O-Rama-Rama 2009 and 2010, Vancouver Mini Maker Faire and the Sweetie Pie Press 2011 Summer Craft Tour. We wanted to curate a boutique event to showcase some of our favourite handmade artists and provide Vancouver the opportunity to shop for one of a kind goods and meet the makers in person to talk about their creative processes.
Want to participate in this opportunity?
Don’t delay, apply now.
All good things must come to an end, and the Call for Makers for Vancouver Mini Maker Faire 2012 is no different. We’ve had some excellet Makers apply over the last 10 weeks, and I can’t wait to share some of them with you via this blog!
But it’s time to finalize the planning for the event, and as such Saturday May 19 will mark the end of the Call for Makers. If you’ve been putting off applying, now’s your last chance to get in! So head on over to the Call for Makers page, and fill out one of the application forms.
