How do the weekend passes work? Are they transferable?

No, the weekend passes are not transferable. When you first come through the front gate you will receive a wristband. This is your “ticket” for re-entry through the weekend, so you must wear it both days.

I bought a day ticket for a specific day but I would like to go on a different day. Can I do that?

While we prefer that you come to the Faire on the day you purchased your ticket for, we understand that plans can change, so you can use a day ticket on either day, regardless of the date on the ticket.

Are Ins-and-Outs allowed?

Yes. People who purchase a weekend pass will be given a wristband. People who purchase a day ticket will receive a hand stamp.

Can I get a refund if I can’t go?

Possibly. This will have to be arranged through our ticketing agent Brown Paper Tickets. If you chose the “Mobile Ticket” option you have the possibility of transferring the ticket to someone else. Check the Brown Paper Ticket link above.

I bought a ticket but now I can’t go. Can I transfer my ticket to a friend?

Yes. If you chose the “mobile delivery” option you can text the ticket to your friend. Keep in mind that each ticket has a specific bar code, so only 1 person can enter with your particular bar code.

More information can be found at Brown Paper Tickets’ FAQ page.

No. Discount and Promo Codes are only for online sales.

What kind of payment do you take at the door?

Cash, VISA, and Mastercard.

Is there an ATM on site?

Yes, there are 3 ATMs – one at the front gate and 2 inside the Faire itself.

Why are your tickets so expensive? Events like Circle Craft and Make It! don’t charge this much.

Exhibitors at events such as Circle Craft are there primarily to sell their products, and as such pay a high booth fee to the event organizers, allowing the event to keep its ticket prices low. Our Makers, however, are at Vancouver Mini Maker Faire to show off the cool things they make and do, many of them as a hobby, with just a small percentage of them actually selling anything. As such, we charge them a low fee to participate.

In addition, every year we strive to add more activities and events for those of you coming to the Faire, to make your experience that much more enjoyable.

General FAQs

Where at the PNE is the event located?

At the PNE forum building, which is easily accessible from the corner of Hastings and Renfrew.

How do I get there?

We encourage you to use alternate transportation. The PNE is easily accessible by public transport and there are bicycle racks located in multiple locations on the south side of the Forum. For more information about getting to the PNE via transit, including fares and schedules, please visit www.translink.bc.ca or call 604-953-3333.

Modo_logo_red For those who want to drive to the venue, consider carsharing with Modo, Official Transportation Sponsor of the 2014 Vancouver Mini-Maker Faire. Better yet, invite a few friends to share a ride!

Will there be parking?

If you choose to drive we encourage you to park in one of the PNE’s secure, well-lit lots. For easy access to the PNE’s Forum building, enter the PNE grounds via Gate 2 off Renfrew Street. The daily parking fee is $10 including tax per vehicle. They accept cash, credit and debit for parking payment.

Modo_logo_red Those carsharing can enjoy free parking in any Permit and Resident-Only Parking Zone, which includes the residential streets nearby the venue.

Will there be food at the Faire?

Yes! The number of food carts at the Faire has grown this year. In addition, the PNE concession has a diverse menu selection this year, ensuring that there’s something for everyone.

Can we bring our own food?

While we strongly encourage you to support our food partners, we realize that many people are on a budget or have special dietary needs. With this in mind, we have no restrictions as to our visitors bringing their own food or non-alcoholic beverages.

Speaking of alcohol, is there a beer garden?

No. There is no alcohol for sale at our Faire.

Can I smoke at the Faire?

No, not even in the outside portion. If you wish to smoke you will need to exit the Faire area (make sure you have a hand stamp!) and smoke away from our barriers. Please make sure to properly dispose of your cigarette butts. You can then re-enter through the gate you exited.

Can I bring my dog?

For the safety and comfort of everyone (including your canine family members), only properly identified Service Dogs are allowed.

Is the Faire wheelchair accessible?

Yes! Everything is on one level, with no stairs involved. There will be areas in which you will need to go over cable floor covers. Washrooms are wheelchair accessible.
